cirque du freak reading response

I have been reading the cirque du freak series of books. it is about a boy who stole a vampires preforming spider. the spider then bit his friend, in a attempt to save his friend by becoming the vampires assistant (a half vampire who takes care of a full vampire while he sleeps during the day; they age a fifth of the rate of humans and are much stronger than the average person although not as strong as a full vampire). the book does a good job at making the characters feel alive. the one of the themes of first couple of books is that what you view as monstrous is normal to someone else for instance during a war our enemy are monsters to us as we are to them.
This issue is brought up by the protagonist who is against drinking human blood even though he needs it survive. Mr Crepsley (the full vampire who turned him explains how vampires do not kill when they feed they only take what they need, but he still doesn't drink until his friend is killed he then drinks to preserve his friends memories (when a vampire drinks from a dying friend a part of their memories are kept by the vampire according to MR Crepsley a portion of Shakespeare work was saved in this way).
i think that if everyone thought about this before acting the world would be much safer and a lot less judgement would be passed there would be less hate crimes and everyone would make wiser decisions in general.
