Have you ever had something you wish you could forget but couldn't. The book Enders Game by Orson Scott Card is the story of a young soldier named Ender Wiggin. Ender is a third or the third child of a family at that point in the future it is illegal without government permission to have more than two children. When a child is born the government hooks a machine up to the child to evaluate the child for an advance military school out in space when Enders older brother was born they did it to him and with Enders sister and every child on Earth. Enders brother Peter was a genius but was way to aggressive, his sister was also a genius but was way to passive so the government allows Ender to be born hoping for a good mix. When Ender was little he grew close to his sister Valentine this is important because Ender is always trying to be like Valentine which makes him go mad because in his future he not only commits genocide but kills two children in fights (both children were trying to hurt him in a fight so he beat them not realizing his own strength). Throughout the book Ender never forgets the day he left and he rues it. There are many themes in this book but one of the clearest is you have to move on.
In the beginning of the book they take the machine that keeps track of Ender out of his neck (the machine allows them to hear his thoughts and see through his eyes). This allowed his bullies to make their move on him because when the machine was in his neck the government could see and here through Enders eyes and ears he manages to talk the group into a one on one fight with the leader then he beats up the leader. Sensing that this will only make him mad an he'll come back tomorrow Ender keeps kicking him even while he's on the ground. although nobody ever told Ender his beating resulted in his bullies death he knew it did not as fact but as a gut feeling that haunted him throughout the book.
Enders kills another child in battle school an elite military academy for children four to fourteen. He was confronted by a group of bullies again and managed to make the leader go one on one again. This time was different though this time he killed the kid before he hit the ground. This death bothered him more because he knew by the look in the kids eyes.
Theses are all very serious things but Ender just never moves on and they make him go crazy to the point where by the end of the book he goes into a coma-like state for a week in which he did nothing but sleep for a week because he stopped caring about anything and he didn't move eat or drink for a week. no-matter what happens if you continue to hover on the topic it will eventual consume you you can't live in the past you have to live in the present. Because who hasn't done something they wish they could forget even if its not that you killed somebody i know personally i have many things i wish i could forget mostly embarrassing moments.
