        The theme of the book The Lord Of The Rings is that even the least important of people could change the worlds.  The book is  about a hobbit named Frodo Baggins as he attempts to destroy the one ring and hopefully Souron with it.  Frodo is what is known as a hobbit a people forgotten by some and barley remembered by others and the least likely candidate for a mission to save the world. along with his friend Sam Gamgee Frodo (also a hobbit) makes for Mordor.
       When they attend the council at Rivendell nobody even thinks about tasking Frodo with the ring until he  volunteer and even then many protest him being the ring bearer.  Many  felt that hobbits were to unknown and to small literally to do the task at hand they thought that someone of a more known and powerful race should do it not knowing that hobbits are one of the toughest of races and although very friendly if need be one of the most dangerous races. They placed him right away as the least important even though in the end a hobbit was probably the only one who could do the job being that out of all the races they are least attracted to power making the rings grasp over them a weak one at the most.
   merry and Pipin (hobbits as well) played a pivotal vole in a battle that they weren't even going to be in in the first place the king had told them they were to  small to fight although he had a point because they weren't tall enough to ride horses they still managed to kill a shade a tasked rarely accomplished.
   that is why i think that the theme of The Lord Of The Rings is that the least important of people could change the world.  A unknown hobbit came out of nowhere and saved the world when everyone doubted him the person most likely not to leave there home town traveled across the land and accomplished an unprecedented task.
