        I recently read an article in the pos tby Jennifer Gould Keil and Dareh Gregorian. about how hotels and some home owners were renting rooms for outrageous prices hoping o make some extra money from people displaced by Sandy. many hotels were offering rooms for a hundred or more dollars a night than they averagely  charge. even some home owners were renting rooms for five hundred or more.although that's not to say there weren't people offering room for low prices or even for free. but it is horrible to really see how oar someone would exploit someone else weakness for some easy money.
        one hotel manager told the Post that the prices weren't normally that high but that the occupancy was higher so they had to price higher while i could see why that is you would think they would be a little kinder to these people who had probably just lost their home its also bad from a business stand point who would want to go to a hotel that charged extra to refugees
        by the time power was up the prices returned to normal.  i am always amazed to see what people are willing to do for money and i'm always surprised at just how far they would go.
